A serious trader or a serious investor, he will deposit a few thousand euros or dollars and leave them on his wallet.
There needs to be at least one alternative to wire transfers because they can be slow to proceed and in some cases expensive for the sender. In fact in Europe, even within the SEPA zone, there are many countries whose banks still charge SEPA remittances at the price of normal international remittances (high fees). In such countries from the Union European (yes UE) they will differently bill you if you require a same day processing (something as high as 60 €) or a 1 day or 2 days processing time (still it will cost you 20 € minimum).
This alternative can be debit/credit cards. It's instant and as much practical than the e-wallets.
The main problem is that Darwinex has a lifetime limit of 1,000 € regarding card deposits. I haven't seen this elsewhere... I used to deposit tens of thousands € a single day by card at IG for free without a problem.
More and more people do not like to leave their money sleeping at the broker and will use leverage to deposit only the bare minimun, either because they do not trust the broker (less and less too big to fail entities, see FXCM almost collapse or IG lately) or because they want to allocate this money at something else.
Then they see an opportunity on the markets and depositing by cards allow them to join the game about instantly. They win or lose then withdraw, and again and again. This behavior is part of a global strategy will.
That's what cards are good for. But with a limit of 1,000 €, it becomes pointless. Maybe 1,000 € to run a Darwin long term is fine, but if I want to make a quicky operation that is worth something moneywise and use Darwinex as a pure broker (Darwin aside) then 1,000 € can be about useless. Hence, it will prevent me to consider it.
You understand it right. I am fine with wire transfers and cards as only deposit / withdrawal methods ...as long as Darwinex lifts than 1,000 € limit for something more unlimited.
FXCM = 20,000 € / day by card + Skrill
IG = no limit (limit only by the card issuer, at a bank in Andorra it can be max 50,000 € daily by debit VISA)
Usually I enjoy Darwinex to be on top. Not here ! And I find it "funny" that a broker will refuse such a basic requirement to trade (money)
PS : I understand that Darwinex has a different business model than IG/FXCM that could make deposit processing fees less bearable to handle. Still, as a customer point of view only, I can't see what I could do with 1,000 € even per day. So to me, it's like only wire transfers is available (which I regret).
By the way, with CQG in sight, I know that futures brokers usually only accept transfers, but our menu here is more diverse (FX and CFDs)
