Thank you for first comments. That is all we need to start the debate and start the engine.
No problem, personally me neither, but im sure you have some different strong points that can contribute.
Hehehe, it is interesting that everyone brings up this subject first when i present the idea. Even before we have any product, the first question is allways about splitting the revenue, hehehe. But that is natural, we are all "homo economicus" and before making any decisions we all calculate our risk/value formula in our heads. That also means that we have to tackle this question first. So i will start with how i calculate mine in this exact case;
- Considering financial risk is off the table, the only risk i see is waste of my time. But is it really? I think that even if we do not succeed and create an actual EA at the end, there is still a lot of value in the process itself!
I see no other risk!
- So everything else is value for me. I value the process itself the most, learning a lot of new approaches, meet a lot of capable people to maybe work together in some future project, chance to build a good reputation for myself, ... this list goes on and on actually, that is why the process is my core motivator,
- If we (or better when) succeed to actually create something with revenue, that is just a cherry on top. And in that case i have no problems with sharing. I think the sharing formula should be very simple, for example (just imo, please add your ideas):
10% to the topic moderator(s) - for now i am the only one, but if someone is willing to take on some responcibilities im happy to share
80% would distribute among commentators that contribute with actual work (analysis, programming, backtesting, ....) in any stage of development
10% would go to the rest of commentators that contribute with constructive and helpful debate
0% to all the haters (which will come, you'll see, hehe), maybe even kick them out of topic if they go too far
Can't we use the same formula?
We must make it as simple as possible. I think tracking time is too complicated.
Maybe we can set the rule, for example; that every new operative member (the 80% group) must be confirmed by all the others in that group if they find his contribution valuable. If confirmed, he becomes an equal partner. Same goes with potential topic moderator - me, as for now the only one, must confirm him and by that i also agree that we equaly share the profits.
10% group is for the rest of the commentators (haters excluded of course), which are not included in any of other two categories.
For example, at this moment I am in 10% as moderator, (80% group still empty), @easyFX, @Journalist, @TraderTom are in 10% (commentators) group.
Would you be so kind please, and investigate a little bit in that direction so maybe we get some other "model" ideas?
Thank you again guys for starting our engine. You are welcome to comment my suggestion or make your own of course.
We will work step by step, comment by comment, and i'm sure with some patience and practice - (remember this is also new for me, so expect my mistakes too), we can get somewhere!
REMEMBER - the only way our engine dies is if communication stops (with last post)! That is our fuel. Any communication (even disagreements) keeps it running!!! So communicate and interact as much as possible.
Sorry for my long comment. When things get some form i will write shorter.
