There's also the issue of exposure:
The current setup permits anyone demonstrating a decent combination of D-Score (which they have earned through consistently improving attributes), returns and activity "per their normal Consistency" (not to be confused with general trading frequency), to rise in DarwinIA against the competition.
This gives everyone a fair, balanced shot at competing.
Can this setup be improved? Of course, 100%.
But if just the safest, most profitable traders were to rise to the top, the sample of Darwins would be very small and risk of ruin exponentially higher should a majority of such Darwins experience catastrophic Drawdown, something all systems do experience regardless of robustness or the trader's faith in their systems.
I do agree that Performance is more important than Timing, but exposing a small number of selected systems perceived as "safest" is an ill-advised solution - there is unfortunately, no such thing as a safest system, all anyone has is consistent attributes as basis for judgement.
p.s. I am an Investor in PGH by the way, just so everyone knows I mean this most objectively
