Unofficial DEPOT - known Darwinex stamped projects

I figured out that the Darwinex “wave” is booming lately with projects which are easy to miss out. Consequently, this is a modest attempt at centralizing these community efforts.
It’s pretty sure there are underground projects kept private or unfinished so it relies only on openly known projects.
The depot aims at being a one-stop overview at what’s readily available. It stores shortcut links towards direct access / downloads, plus eventual dependencies.
I’ll try to maintain it. Please use this topic to share updates on developments so I too can update without missing out

Heading towards a Darwinex package repository :ok_hand: !

It is sortered and neat :ok_hand: !

I thought of it yesterday  Like a 1 folder download with tree arborescence, already sorted, of all the whistles & bells unpacked and ready to use

But there are 2 turndowns :

  • It would require more maintenance to keep up with updated versions… than providing shortcuts heading towards the main tool webpage (that the tool creator maintains himself)
  • Also, since I use MEGA free plan, if it becomes popular with too many downloads, the account might run out of bandwith quickly… (even though I will be creating a MEGA account dedicated to Darwinex Community today).

It really depends on what would be stored. For instance, right now, I direct the user to Darwinex to request FTP credentials about the tick data, in order to respect the fact that it requires a verified account
If I were to store all the tick data unzipped for instance, the database size would be something else, and a dupplicate from Darwinex FTP

At the moment, I have stored a snapshot of the DARWINs data by @yhlasx, which is the largest sized folder

All in all, for now, and not knowing critics, I will be postponing the idea !

@CavaliereVerde by chance, are you able to move that latest post as the second message of the topic ? Grazie !

No, nobody can violate the time ordering in discussions.
You can create another discussion and I can move there the comments that you want.

Nevermind then, I will just edit the first message

It seems that regular trust level users can edit other posts title/tags?! I think I just capitalized this one (for testing purposes)

Made the same remark to Cavalier some days ago

If you think of a more catchy title, feel free to edit

I’ve worked on the DEPOT today, I’ll continue tomorrow. It is about complete for the Darwinex part (I’m missing 2 tools only, will add soon)

edit : just added tags to my 2 threads

Too tags = no tags
I am for the non proliferation of tags

I had no feedback on their effect :yum: their number appear to be limited to 5 as default !

I’m done with the depot …for now. It should be exhaustive enough. :robot:

If you dislike the effort, I suggest parasiting it through exhaustion : by submitting many more new projects made with  !

@SECURIX time for some teamplay (when ? your judgement :hugs:)

NB: some stuff is dupplicated due to belonging to 2 different categories at the same time (like Data & API tool for the Download manager of @Paduel)

It really seems one of the 36 stratagems :ok_hand: :
